May and June have kept us on our toes!

Hey Party People!!

SUMMER IS OFFICIALLY HERE! Flowers are blooming, everything isgreen and beautiful and it starts to get light at 3.30 in the morning.. I love it! ☀️🌸
May has been really generous with the sunshine and even though June tried to drown us at first with all the rain, the last few days have been beauuutiful!!!

But let’s pick up where we left off!!

At the end of May, I worked the bar with Guna at the Red Warscawa concert — and it was WILD!!! The loud music, all the people, and really crazy energy! Certainly an unforgettable band :D

The next day we took a trip to Næstved and went to a street food market — and it was really nice!! With more people than expected, a lot of good food, and a really nice atmosphere!!

The week after, on Mother’s Day, I was on a trip to see the Maribo troll sculpture — it was built by an artist using materials from the forest and placed in different spots across Europe... or only Scandinavia?? I’m not sure :p

Meanwhile, we’re still working on the “Girlande” for the outdoor area — the opening party is happening in about two weeks!! It’s getting longer and looks so nice already!!!

There has also been a big food festival in Nykøbing!! There were so many food stands and free samples everywhere!!! :)

Around the same time, my mom came to visit!!! She stayed for the weekend and we celebrated her birthday at Marielyst — it was so, so beautiful and I was really happy she came!!! 💕

The Friday she was there, we hosted a Fredagshyggebar with pancakes!! It was really cozy and delicious!

Aaaand! The visits didn’t stop after that!!! Flavie, Noelia – two volunteers from France and Spain – my friend Theo, and Lara-Sophie (a Belgian volunteer) all came over in one weekend!!! It was SO much fun, I think we all had a blast!!

Before Theo came, Flavie, Noelia, Tabea and I all went swimming in the ocean!!! It was SO cold! Our legs went numb as soon as we stayed in the water for more than a few minutes.. BUT it was totally worth it!!! Afterwards, we got ice cream which came in huge scoops and I officially fell in love with guf!!! It’s like this sticky fluffy mass that goes on top of your ice cream.. Nothing for people that can’t handle a lot of sweetness but it went perfectly with my chocolate-mint ice cream ;)

Then, on Wednesday, Janosch came to visit — we were so happy!!! And while he was still here, Marie and Maya, two German volunteers, also came over for the weekend! Together we rented a car and took a trip to Møns Klint!!! We got SO lucky with the weather — it was perfect :)

Now it’s exam season at language school — my tests are coming up in the next weeks, while Tabea already passed hers!!! YAY TABBY!!! 🎉🎉🎉

I would’ve loved to keep going for a bit longer, but with summer break around the corner, it just doesn’t make sense right now.

Anyways, June has been beautiful so far!! 🌸☀️🌊🍦

I’m looking forward to the next months! :D
